Moriches

Moriches is a collective name that includes the hamlets of East Moriches and Center Moriches, as well as being a hamlet itself. Located in the Town of Brookhaven, just west of Southampton Town, Moriches residents enjoy the relaxed lifestyle here, the beautiful beaches and outdoor activities including boating and exploring area nature trails. The Chamber of Commerce of The Moriches serves all three Moriches hamlets and sponsors community events each year. Their website, https://moricheschamber.org, lists events taking place in the hamlets that make up the Moriches, including a farmer’s and artisan market, spring fair, a summer concert series, Rotary Club Oktoberfest Celebration, a Small Business Expo, a Chinese auction and Christmas Fair and a tree-lighting ceremony. The website also includes a directory of local businesses. Students here attend schools in the William Floyd School District. Perhaps the best known business in Moriches was the Jurgielewicz Duck Farm, which was founded in 1919 and at its peak raised a million Pekin ducks a year.
