Michelle joined Saunders & Associates after several successful years of selling real estate in New York City. One day it occurred to her that she was actually a serial renovator so she decided to turn her passion into a career by purchasing estate condition apartments and reconfiguring them into updated luxury homes. When she moved out east full-time, she translated that experience to building high-end custom homes in the Hamptons. Her recent spec house was seen in Hamptons Cottages & Garden's Architecture Issue.

Michelle's personal knowledge of local building codes and requirements is an asset to everyone she works with. Whether you are looking at land to build on or buying an existing home she provides an advisory on what can be done to enhance a property, and what can't. Michelle credits her success in real estate not only to her eye for design and her intrinsic sense of what people want and need in a home, but also to her previous career as Sr VP Publishing Director for a global media company. Her well-honed negotiating skills, her strategic thought process and her belief that data and research all have equal importance assures that her clients and customers are buying or selling at the absolute best price.

She approaches every deal with perseverance and professionalism but of all the qualities she brings to her job she holds her honesty as her most important asset. She would rather not sell a home, if it's the wrong home for her buyers. Likewise, when representing a homeowner, she knows that an inflated unachievable selling price is not in the seller's best interest because precious time is wasted, and the right buyer might just pass it up.

My family and I were introduced to Michelle by a friend in 2020. Michelle spent time getting to know us, our preferences, and our needs. Over the course of just weeks, she was able to find us a home that suited exactly what we wanted and needed. In fact, she recognized our needs far before we did (we ended up with a house that Michelle had identified as perfect for our family on our first day of visits - we didn't realize it was perfect for us until weeks later). Michelle has built homes, so throughout the process, she was able to identify problems and issues that we would not have been able to identify and would have regretted later (for example, poor construction, poor attention to detail, a poor location, distance from grocery stores or restaurants, unforeseen taxes). She has lived in the area for a long time and is incredibly knowledgeable about the towns, villages, and real estate market. Michelle really cares about finding her clients the right home - I will never forget how she took care of our children and read them books on the floor of a home so that we could have the time to check out the space. Most importantly, she always put us and our needs first without it being about business - in fact, several times she guided us away from a home that was not the right fit for us, even when we were ready to buy. And we still keep in touch, because we know what she did for our family! Michelle takes care of you. There's nothing more that you can ask for as someone looking to buy a home.
